MEXICO: Journalist data leak prompts security concerns

The leaking of the personal data of hundreds of journalists from a government database in Mexico has raised renewed concerns about the dangers facing media workers in the country. It has also sparked criticism over the lack of action from the government led by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to protect them. The president’s response to the data breach, which appeared to blame some of the country’s most prominent journalists, will do little to assuage such concerns.
