URUGUAY: Thrilled with Milei’s Montevideo decision

Uruguay’s government expressed its deep satisfaction this week at the decisive support of Argentina’s President Javier Milei for its long-running ambition to dredge and widen the access channel to the port of Montevideo. Uruguay’s President Luis Alberto Lacalle Pou said the project would provide “a substantial economic change” for Uruguay’s development and that of its neighbours, with the port becoming “a logistical hub for our production and the region, it is for everyone”.
