COLOMBIA: Gov’t tries to get ahead of bribery allegations

On 7 May Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro sought to distance himself from a growing corruption scandal that allegedly includes the government’s disaster risk management unit (UNGRD), senate president Iván Name, and the president of the lower chamber of congress, Andrés Calle.
