ECUADOR: Noboa foreign tour dogged by dispute

An unedifying spat between Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa and Vice President Verónica Abad played out on the international stage this week. Noboa was on a foreign visit to Europe, ostensibly to drum up investment but with the unstated purpose of reviving Ecuador’s international image after wholesale condemnation of his government’s decision to sanction an incursion into the Mexican embassy in Quito in April to extract former vice president Jorge Glas (2013-2017).
