*Mexico’s national social security institute (IMSS) has reported that 456,417 formal jobs were created in Mexico from January to September 2024. According to the IMSS, 90,968 jobs were created in September, up from 58,047 in August and 12,344 in July. The economic sectors with the highest annual percentage growth in jobs were transportation and communications (+5.4%;), trade (+3.2%), and social & communal services (+2.3%), as reported in the local media. As of 30 September 2024, the IMSS had registered a total of 22.48m formal jobs. Additionally, the institute announced that the average salary in Mexico has increased to M$581.60 (US$30.13) per day.
