BRAZIL: New settlement offer being negotiated for Mariana disaster
On 19 October, Australia-listed mining company BHP Billiton announced that it was negotiating a R$170bn (US$31.7bn per an exchange rate calculated by the company) settlement with Brazilian authorities for the 2015 Mariana dam collapse.
