*Argentina’s central bank (BCRA) has announced that it is lowering the country’s benchmark interest rate by 300 basis points to 32%. This is the eighth adjustment since President Javier Milei took office in December 2023. In a statement, the BCRA attributes the decision to “the observed consolidation of expectations for a lower inflation rate”. Monthly inflation has continued to slow, standing at 2.7% in October, down from 3.5% in September and 4.2% in August. The annual inflation rate stood at 193% in October, down from 209% in September and 236.7% in August.
