JAMAICA: Does "Sista P" have what it takes to lead the PNP?

The ruling People's National Party (PNP) must choose from one of four candidates to replace Prime Minister P J Patterson when he steps down before April's budget. The last PNP leadership race in 1992 saw Patterson triumph over Portia Simpson Miller, who goes under the soubriquet "Sista P". This time around Simpson Miller, the local government minister, is the clear favourite among those who will attend the special delegates conference to choose Patterson's successor in February.
