Santiago Pena has announced that the government is lowering the price of
“all fuel” sold by state oil company Petropar by G$270 (US$0.03). Peña made the announcement to coincide with Paraguay’s national independence day, which is celebrated from 14-15 May.
“We reiterate our commitment to a Paraguay that moves forward, taking care of its people’s pockets and betting on work and progress,” wrote Peña on social media. According to Petropar, this reduction means that its diesel prices will be between G$6,920 and G$8,720 per litre while its 88-octane gasoline will cost G$5,860 per litre, 93-octane gasoline G$6,360 per litre, and 97-octane gasoline G$7,710 per litre.
