*Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has announced that the country registered a trade surplus of US$204m in April, marking the 17
th consecutive month of positive trade balance but falling far short of the US$1bn surplus forecast by analysts surveyed by Reuters. April’s surplus was down from a surplus of US$623m in March and a surplus of US$1.81bn in April 2024. In April 2025 exports totalled US$6.66bn, up 2.3% year-on-year, while imports totalled US$6.46bn, up 37.3% year-on-year. Argentina’s most valuable export in April was manufactured agricultural products, totalling US$2.37bn (-0.4% year-on-year), followed by manufactured industrial goods (US$1.75bn, +5.5%), and primary goods (US$1.70bn, +10.8%). Brazil remained the country’s top export market, receiving US$929m of exports in February, followed by the US (US$650m) and the European Union (US$591m). Brazil also accounted for the most imports, totalling US$1.63bn (+53.6%), followed by China on US$1.41bn (+92.5%), and the European Union with US$888m (+16.1%).
