In brief: Paraguay’s GDP growth picks up in Q1

*Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has released its latest quarterly report showing that GDP grew by 5.9% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025. This compares with year-on-year growth of 3.6% in the fourth quarter of 2024, 3.1% in the third quarter, and 5.3% in the second quarter. Growth in the first quarter of 2025 was driven by services (+6.0% year-on-year), manufacturing (+6.6%), construction (+12.9%), and electricity and water (+8.3%), among other things. The only sector to register a decline was agriculture (-3.4%).
