In brief: Bolivia’s inflation surges again

*Bolivia’s national statistics institute (INE) has released the latest consumer price index, putting monthly inflation in June at 5.21% – up from 3.65% in May. This pushed the annual inflation rate to 23.96%, up from 18.46% in May. Inflation has soared over the past 12 months and is up from an annual rate of 3.84% in June 2024. The categories which saw the steepest monthly price rises in June were diverse goods and services (+9.21%), food and non-alcoholic drinks (+8.50%), furniture and domestic services (+6.08%), and clothing and shoes (+5.52%).
