| Eclac releases growth projections. On 5 August the Economic Commission for Latin America & the Caribbean (Eclac) released its latest growth projections for the region which forecast that Central America – in which it includes Cuba, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic – will post average growth of 2.6% in 2025, down from a 2.7% estimate in its previous April forecast. Eclac expects Panama to post the highest growth in 2025 (4.2%), followed by the Dominican Republic (3.7%), Guatemala (3.6%), Costa Rica (3.5%), Honduras (3.2%), Nicaragua (3.1%), El Salvador (2.4%), Cuba (-1.5%) and Haiti (-2.3%).
