BELIZE: Central America seeking to strengthen ties with Caricom

Member countries of the Central American Integration System (SICA) ended a two-day meeting in Belmopan, Belize, on 13 January. The talks resulted in a shortlist of proposals for areas of cooperation the organisation plans on pursuing with the Caribbean Community (Caricom). At the end of January, Belize will accept the presidency of SICA and intends to use its strong links with Caricom to strengthen ties between the two sub-regions.
