NICARAGUA: Oil refinery in the pipeline

Nicaragua's need for energy and Venezuela's readiness to supply it continues to bind the two countries together. On 5 March a joint Nicaraguan-Venezuelan committee was launched in Managua in the presence of a high-profile delegation from Venezuela, which comprised four ministers and six vice-ministers. It was led by agriculture minister Elí­as Jaua, who praised bilateral cooperation as "following the path that Bolí­var and Sandino showed us".
