MEXICO | Vehicle sales up, exports and production down. On 7 October Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) reported that light vehicle sales edged up year-on-year in September, while exports and production were down in yearly terms. Sales were up 0.34% with 117,181 vehicles sold in September. However, production was down 6.09% on September 2024, with 355,525 units produced, while exports were down 0.33%, with 314,656 units exported. All three metrics were down in the first nine months of the year as compared to the same period of 2024. Sales were down 0.55% with 1.08m units sold, production was down 0.31% with 3.02m units produced, and exports dropped 0.94% with 2.57m units exported.
