Industrial production continues to fall in yearly terms. On 11 November Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) reported that industrial activity had decreased by 3.3% year-on-year in September. In monthly terms, Inegi’s index of industrial activity (Imai) decreased by 0.4%. February is the only month this year to have registered an annual increase in the Imai (+0.1%), with September’s drop the largest since January (-3.6%). September also marks the fourth consecutive month of monthly decreases, following falls of 0.3% in August, 1.1% in July, and 0.4% in June, according to the latest figures.
