*Peru’s foreign trade and tourism minister,
Teresa Mera, has hailed the US government’s introduction of tariff exemptions for over 200 agricultural products which she said would benefit over 100 products that are exported from Peru to the US. Mera noted that products which will now enter the US tariff-free include avocados, mangos, cacao, ginger, lemons, oranges, and natural fruit juices, and said that the exempted products accounted for 24% of Peruvian exports to the US in 2024, totalling around US$1.2bn.
