Mexico’s federal attorney general’s office (FGR) announced the arrest of the former Chihuahua state governor, César Duarte (2010-2016), on 8 December on charges of money laundering. The move marks a major step towards bringing Duarte, a member of the centrist opposition Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI), to justice.
