In brief: Annual inflation slows in Bolivia

*Bolivia’s national statistics institute (INE) has released the latest consumer price index, putting monthly inflation in December 2025 at 0.59%, up from 0.40% in November. This brought the annual inflation rate in December to 20.40%, up from 20.96% the previous month. Inflation has surged over the past year and the annual inflation rate contrasts with the 9.97% rate that was registered in December 2024. The category with the steepest monthly price increase was transport (+15.31%), likely reflecting the cancellation of fuel subsidies in December. This was followed by food and drink consumed outside the home (+1.14%), alcohol and tobacco (+1.02%), and clothing and shoes (+0.89%).
