GUATEMALA: New security plan launched as state of siege eased
On 17 February Guatemala’s left-of-centre government led by President Bernardo Arévalo announced the launch of a new security plan ‘Centinela Metropolitano’, involving the deployment of joint military-police (PNC) patrols to crime hotspots in Guatemala department and the capital, Guatemala City.
