PERU: Surprises still possible

The last of Peru’s three nationally televised presidential debates held this week took place on 1 April, ahead of presidential and congressional elections on 12 April. The 11 candidates who took part in the debate (out of 35 who are participating in the race) struggled to make an impact: there is still uncertainty over which are likely to go through to the expected second-round ballot in June.
