*Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has published its latest consumer price index, putting monthly inflation in March at 0.8%, up from 0.0% in February and 0.6% in January, while annual inflation came in at 1.9%, down from 2.3% in February and 2.7% in January. Monthly core inflation, which excludes volatile items, stood at 0.1% while the annual rate was 2.2%, down from 2.6% in February. The subcategories which saw the steepest monthly price rises were fresh fruit (+11.6%) and fuel (+11.6%), while pork (-3.0%) and holidays and tourism (-1.7%) saw the largest monthly price drops.
