*Paraguay’s central bank (BCP) has published the latest figures for its consumer price index, putting monthly inflation in May at 0.1%, down from 0.8% in both April and March, while annual inflation came in at 2.4%, up from 2.3% in April and 1.9% in March. Monthly core inflation, which excludes volatile items, stood at 0.3% while the annual core rate was 1.9%, equal to that registered in April. The subcategories which saw the steepest monthly price rises were fresh vegetables and tubers (+4.1%) and home maintenance and repair services (+4.0%), while fresh fruits (-10.7%) and coffee (-5.1%) saw the largest monthly drops.
