MEXICO | Private sector reduces growth forecast. On 1 June, Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) published its monthly survey of private sector economists, which showed a decrease in growth and inflation forecasts for 2026. The median GDP growth forecast for 2026 was 1.10%, down from 1.38% in the previous survey in April. The median GDP forecast for 2027 was also down slightly at 1.80%, from 1.88% the previous month. Regarding inflation, the median forecast for 2026 was 4.35%, down from a forecast of 4.38% the previous month. The median inflation forecast for 2027 saw a slight increase from 3.80% in April’s survey to 3.84% in the latest survey.
