MEXICO | Remittances continue to rise year-on-year. On 1 June Mexico’s central bank (Banxico) released remittance figures for April 2026, announcing that remittances to the country totalled US$4.98bn. This represents a 3.7% increase year-on-year but is down from US$5.39bn in March. April represents the third consecutive month of annual increases in the remittance total, following an increase of 4.9% in March and 0.4% in February. From January-April 2026, remittances totalled US$19.68bn, up 2.6% on the US$19.18bn received during the same period in 2025.
