*Canadian mining company Aldebaran Resources and its spin-out company Centauri Minerals have announced that they received a drilling permit for the Rio Grande gold and copper project from the provincial government of Argentina’s Salta province. A company press release cited Centauri’s CEO
Sam Leung as saying that during the first half of 2026 the firm
“has commenced an exploration targeting program at Rio Grande which includes an expanded geophysical scope of work from the last program in 2011”, adding that this new drilling permit
“allows Centauri to test new targets starting in the second half of 2026, which will be the first drill holes at Rio Grande since 2013”. In addition to the Rio Grande mining project, Aldebaran and Centauri have also made progress on discussions with consultants to evaluate the Aguas Calientes gold and silver project in Jujuy province, which was last worked on in 2019, according to the press release.
