On 5 July Colombia’s outgoing President Gustavo Petro said he would sue his critics for alleged slander once he leaves office, after Carlos Alonso Lucio, the head of the transition team of far-right President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella, said that Petro should face criminal charges.
