HONDURAS | Maquila sector flourishing. At a time when maquiladora (assembly) sectors regionwide are feeling the pinch of Asian, particularly Chinese, competition, in Honduras maquila business is expanding at a fair pace. Exports will expand by 10% this year, to about US$2.6bn, predicts the Asociación de Maquiladores de Honduras.
