CUBA: US sanctions tightened again

On 20 August US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced a further tightening of sanctions against Cuba, targeting nine Cuban entities and three individuals. This is the latest set of designations since US President Donald Trump announced on 1 May [WR-26-18] that he was toughening measures as part of Washington’s maximum pressure campaign on the island, to force its economic and political opening.
