PANAMA: Commission recommends orderly closure of Panama mine
On 30 September an inter-governmental commission handed over its recommendations to Panama’s President José Raúl Mulino regarding Cobre Panamá, a massive copper mine shuttered in late 2023 following major unrest over a new contract, which the supreme court (CSJ) ultimately struck down.
