In brief: Brazil posts rise in oil and gas production

*Brazil’s federal oil and gas regulator (ANP) has released the monthly production figures for August, which showed at total of 6.0m barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd). Oil production totalled 4.62m barrels per day (bpd) in August, up 2.6% in monthly terms and up 18.4% compared to August 2025, while natural gas production stood at 220.55m cubic metres per day (m3/d), up 2.6% on the previous month and up 16.8% year-on-year. The ANP’s data also showed that the Búzios field, in the Santos Basin, was the highest oil producer in August, registering a total of 1.17m bpd, while the Mero field, also in the Santos Basin, produced the most natural gas, with 48.93m m3/d. Regarding production units, the Almirante Tamandaré floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel, located in Búzios, produced the most oil, with 258,401 bpd. For natural gas, the highest producer was the Sepetiba FPSO in the Mero field, which produced 12.97m m3/d.
