BRAZIL: Corruption cases undermine Lula's prospects

Political commentators agree that the series of scandals involving President Lula da Silva's Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT) will undermine his ambitions for the next four years. The scandals involving PT members during Lula's first administration will mature into embarrassing court cases in the coming months. This will provide the opposition with renewed ammunition against the government.
