ARGENTINA: Misiones the graveyard for governors' hopes

Governors will not receive support from President Néstor Kirchner in their bid to alter their provincial constitutions to seek re-election. Kirchner made this clear after the governor of Misiones, Carlos Rovira, backed by Kirchner, was beaten at the polls pursuing such an endeavour on 29 October. Rovira's failure spelt the end for the re-election ambitions of Felipe Solá, the governor of the province of Buenos Aires, and Eduardo Fellner, the governor of Jujuy.
