ARGENTINA: Insecurity divides the Peronists

Since the death of former president Néstor Kirchner (2003-2007), infighting in the ruling Partido Justicialista (PJ) has reached record levels. The most important battle in Argentina's largest party is not between factions but rather is within the ruling Frente para la Victoria (FPJ) faction, in which President Cristina Fernández is trying to impose her will over another member, the governor of the province of Buenos Aires and the only man who could (arguably successfully) challenge her at the polls in the upcoming 23 October general election, Daniel Scioli.
