PARAGUAY: Disagreement marks Paraguay-Bolivia relations

On 19 February, Paraguay and Bolivia's bilateral relations were dealt another blow by President Evo Morales, who accused the government of President Fernando Lugo of being “corrupt". Relations between the two neighbours, whose presidents otherwise have a good relationship given their ideological empathy, are being tested over Paraguay's decision to grant asylum to Mario Cossí­o, the governor of Bolivia's eastern department of Tarija, suspended from his post in December 2010 over corruption allegations [RA-11-01/02].
