Ecuador's national constituent assembly has finally admitted what everyone
knew already: that it will not be able to meet the original May deadline for
finalising the new constitution which it has been drawing up since it was
created last November. It is, however, making progress on the new Magna Carta
and hopes to have a final draft completed by the end of July. In addition to
debating the articles of the constitution, the assembly has been tasked with
passing legislation while the country is still without a congress.End of preview - This article contains approximately 1411 words.
