The two candidates almost certain to face each other in the second round of the presidential election on 20 June, Juan Manuel Santos and Antanas Mockus, have different priorities in economic policy-making. Santos and his advisers stress the fiscal problems facing the country while Mockus says that his government will attack corruption and unnecessary subsidies for the wealthy.
