ELECTIONS: The fight for Bogotá

On 30 October Colombians will return to the polls to elect 32 governors, 417 national deputies, 1,107 local mayors and 12,500 local councilmen. However, most media and public attention has focused on who will take the second most important public office in the country and become mayor of Bogotá. Although the candidates for most major parties remain undecided, the Partido Verde (PV) and the Partido Liberal (PL) have already decided on who will represent them.
