NICARAGUA: Donors back Bolaños in row with judiciary

Outsiders have been weighing in on the side of President Enrique Bolaños in his campaign to eliminate the political stranglehold over the judiciary by Nicaragua's two main political parties [WR-04-34]. Donor countries financing the modernisation of the judiciary have hinted that they might follow the US and suspend aid disbursements if the law governing the judicial career is not passed soon.
