HONDURAS: Prosecutors fired, corruption cases dismissed

The dismissal of ten public prosecutors and the shelving of dozens of corruption cases has provoked strikes in the prosecution service and demonstrations on the streets, all protesting at what is seen as yet another example of how entrenched corruption is within the Honduran establishment. Chief prosecutor Ovidio Navarro, who ordered the dismissals and the shelvings, says these prove the exact opposite.
