HONDURAS: Good harvest

The problem of a nationwide teachers' strike, which has led to roadblocks being set up on major highways, obscures some decent economic news. The harvest, in particular is likely to be good this year. The teachers are demanding the government deliver on promises made before the 1997 elections. The current government said that it simply does not have the US$158m needed to make good on the commitment.
