GUATEMALA: Exports lead economy

Exports in the first seven months came to US$2.02bn, up 8.4% on the same period last year. Imports in the same period were US$5.35bn. Imports of capital goods in the first seven months came to US$929m. The country's most important export is textiles and exports of these products came to US$893m in the first seven months. The next most-important export is coffee, which had exports of US$242m for the first seven months.
