ECUADOR: Investors take Gutiérrez on US 'briefing' trip

Invited by an investment firm to travel to the US, former President Lucio Gutiérrez has renounced the political asylum he was granted by Brazil and set out to lobby for his reinstatement, seeking support among investors and Ecuadoreans abroad. He has accused the Palacio administration of being corrupt as well as illegitimate, and has announced that he will seek the backing of the OAS.
