URUGUAY-US: Envoy irks officials by urging treaty ratification

Officials and legislators of the ruling Encuentro Progresista-Frente Amplio (EP-FA) have reacted tetchily to an attempt by the outgoing US ambassador to pressure congress into ratifying a bilateral investment treaty signed by the Batlle administration last year - over which both government ministers and members of the ruling party are at odds.
