DEBT: The Argentine debt swap

The Argentine debt swap was, as we forecast last month, a success. Holders tendered 76% of the outstanding debt, which was far more than the government's critics had suggested. In cash terms, the investors agreed to swap debts worth US$62.3bn for new debt worth US$32.3bn.
