CHILE: Central bank frets about inflation

The central bank raised interest rates, by a quarter of a percentage point, to 3.25% on 12 May. The bank said that the rate of economic growth was running ahead of the economy's capacity. Indeed, on 18 May, the bank raised its forecast for inflation for 2005 from 2.0% to 2.8%.
