PERU: Kuczynski forecasts 5.5% growth

Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, the long serving economy and finance minister, upped his forecast for growth in 2005 at the end of April. He now reckons that the economy will grow by 5.5% despite the continuing political problems. The government had previously been forecasting an average of 4.5% growth for the next three years. In 2004 the growth rate was 5.1%.
