ARGENTINA: Getting carried away

The economy minister, Roberto Lavagna said that the government's target was for uninterrupted growth from now until 2010. He pointed out that in the past 37 months the economy had grown by 26%. This followed the crisis caused by the devaluation of December 2001, which prompted a 10.9% decline in the economy in 2002. In the three years before 2001, the economy also contracted.
