COLOMBIA: Inventories cleared?

Industrial output fell in the first quarter by a marginal 0.05%, according to figures from the Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadí­stica (Dane). Sales from manufacturing industry were actually up by 0.4%, year-on-year, indicating that demand remains strong. The Dane output figures are, again, very different from those produced by industrialists' surveys of what is happening. These surveys point to growth in industrial output of 6.7% and a 6.5% increase in sales.
